2025 OCBH Day at the Capitol

Thank you to all of those that joined us for our 2025 Day at the Capitol. We had over 70 registrants that attended over 50 meetings with State elected officials. Special thanks to Representative Sanchez and Representative Nosse for their powerful words shared to members.
Our focus was

  • HB 2024: Supports the development, recruitment and retention of a behavioral health workforce by increasing training, providing incentives, and allowing providers to offer more competitive salaries only to behavioral health providers who are serving the Oregonians with the most acute behavioral health needs.
  • HB 2059: Invests $100 million in much needed capacity expansion for both mental health and substance use disorder facilities. $10 million is dedicated to youth providers.
  • HB 2015: Requires that OHA reconsider their current requirements of mental health residential providers and develop alternative recommendations that ensure providers can more safely and effectively operate residential mental health facilities.

Change happens when we come together. The 2025 Day at the Capitol is proof!

2022 OCBH Day at the Capitol

The OCBH annual lobby day effort to ensure progress for an improved Behavioral Health system for all Oregonians.
Due to COVID restrictions, OCBH lobbying efforts were virtual for the 2022 legislative session, including district specific legislative meetings and a "Lobbying 101" training webinar for members.

2020 OCBH Day at the Capitol

The event was a great success with 70 people in attendance to lobby their legislators.

CEOs, members of their Board of Directors, program staff and people with lived experience, showed up to share their stories and request the support of their representatives for SB 1553 to investigate barriers to treatment for those with co-occurring disorders and identify ways to ease access.

Thank you to Governor Brown for coming to speak with us and to the legislators for their time.
